Workflow management technology allows organizations of all types to streamline and automate workflow processes so business functions are better coordinated, all while boosting efficiency and reducing costs. Until recently, workflow automation projects depended on tapping the IT department or hiring programmers. Today, however, California-based PerfectForms empowers business users to create online forms and workflow solutions without having to write any code. PerfectForms offers a web-based platform that's powerful, flexible, and easy to integrate with other systems. “Our customers can build their own pixel perfect workflow solutions, which are easy to build, modify and scale as requirements change,” says Paula Selvidge, President and CEO, PerfectForms.
Established in 2008, PerfectForms enables creation of custom online forms, workflow applications and reports without writing any code. “We started with simple form creation and as customer needs evolved, we enhanced our platform to support more complex workflow, data integration and reporting requirements,” she says. “Putting the power in the hands of those that own the workflow process, frees critical IT resources and ensures the solutions meet exact specifications.” With the introduction of custom reports to monitor workflow processes, process owners can also gain end to end visibility so critical bottlenecks can be identified and addressed. “Our solutions can be built to trigger escalations and notifications whenever tasks are not progressing based on time, specific behaviors, or other factors that may cause a breakdown in the workflow,” adds Selvidge. “Workflow solutions can enforce compliance, reduce errors, improve customer service and reduce operational costs.”
As a specialist in workflow process software, PerfectForms incorporates an easy-to-use, drag and drop user interface, so end-users can visually design forms and workflows for processes as diverse as new employee on-boarding to fleet vehicle management and expense reporting.

“We provide a wide array of design objects and flexible options to enforce unique business and access rules,” explains Selvidge. “We offer organizations of every size a solution that is easy to use and deploy, and is flexible and scalable.”
PerfectForms serves a diverse customer base, from single licenses in the cloud to enterprise on-premise installations at Fortune 100 companies. Industries served include financial institutions, education, healthcare, manufacturing and many more. The customer requirements vary from replacing inflexible legacy systems to automating paper-based manual processes. For example, Houston Community College (HCC) wanted to minimize the use of paper-based forms and the manual processing that accompanies them. With PerfectForms, HCC started with automating budget adjustment requests and has now digitized over 200 administrative processes across the entire campus. Not only were they able to create workflow solutions independent of IT, but they eliminated many bottlenecks and were able to share data with PeopleSoft to make processing of new hires far more efficient.
With their “disruptive” approach that has revolutionized creation of online forms and workflow solutions, PerfectForms has developed a scalable, flexible platform that gives customers the power to create solutions that meet their unique specifications. The company is expanding its data integration options, so customers can still share data with existing, inflexible legacy systems and avoid expensive consulting engagements. “Customer feedback drives the prioritization of product enhancements and heavily influences our product roadmap,” concludes Selvidge. “We are also working on several major enhancements in the area of mobile usability to further improve the cross-platform experience for our customers.”
